In May 2019 the woodland was put up for sale – with the risk of it being purchased by a housing developer that already had a major development nearby.  The local Community Council intervened to have the woodland removed from sale before the creation, less than a year later, of the Inchinnan Development Trust (IDT) with the aim of taking it into community-led ownership.  That goal was achieved in December 2021.

It’s a move that has already brought transformative change for individuals, energised the wider community and championed biodiversity.
