Privacy Policy

What information do we collect?

We want you to be fully informed about what data we will hold about you, our purposes for holding it, and how it will be handled. We are open and transparent about what we do with personal data and will only handle your data in ways that you would reasonably expect.

We will only collect information about you when you apply for membership, register for an event, or when you send an enquiry by email.

We only store the email address and name of members of the Scottish Landscape Alliance (SLA), and for those individuals who have asked to be kept informed of SLA activities.

How will we use this information?

We will only use your contact information to process your membership, to provide requested updates, or during registration for events.

We will not share your information with organisations outside the Scottish Landscape Alliance, and we will not share contact information between members without permission.

What is our lawful basis for processing?

When processing your personal data for the purposes of supporting your membership, or registering you for an event, our lawful basis is contract, as the processing is necessary for the performance of a contract (your membership of the SLA or attendance at an event).

When processing your personal data for the purposes of responding to an enquiry, we do so under legitimate interests, in that it is in the legitimate interests of the SLA to process your information to effectively respond to your enquiry and manage any additional enquiries in future.

If you have asked to be kept informed of SLA activities, we will only send electronic communications where we have a record of your consent. You have the right to withdraw your consent at any time.

Security

Personal data is stored securely on the computer systems of the National Trust for Scotland (along with the Landscape Institute Scotland, one of the two founding organisations of the Scottish Landscape Alliance).

Your rights

The protection of your personal data is very important to us. We are committed to processing your data in line with all data protection laws, including your rights of access, rectification, to be informed, to restrict processing, data portability, to object, and to erasure.

If you have any questions on our handling of personal data, please contact us at: info@scotlandslandscapealliance.org
